Brittany & Mckinley

Their love story began at Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, back in 2013. McKinley was on a guy’s trip and Brittany was out and about with her mom. They were both enjoying the festivities when her mom thought they’d make a good couple and struck up conversation. It didn’t take long for the two of them to realize how much they had in common and the sparks began to fly.
There was a genuine bond and friendship that developed quickly. They decided to meet up one weekend to see if the thrill was still real. It was! They had many common likes and interests. They knew that they had a special connection…there was just the tiny issue of living in different states (and being fans of different football teams).
For the next 5 years, the two kept the love alive in a long distance relationship. McKinley moved to Texas in 2019 and the two purchased a home in 2020. One morning, Brittany was talking mess (as usual) about the internet WIFI name that he had changed to “Josephs”. McKinley asked, “Do you want to be a Joseph”. To which she jokingly replied, “No!”. He then popped the question and Brittany happily accepted. The rest is history...Amen.
